Frontier offers some of the most affordable fares. While Frontier can offer tickets starting as low as $25, it does have a number of fees that can quickly add up so plan carefully.
You can save even greater money by booking your seats in advance and not waiting in the line at the airport. Frontier tickets do not include complimentary seat assignments. You will need to pay extra if you don't want to be in the middle of your party or have to sit in a different place.
Another way to cut your expenses is to purchase a bundle package with Frontier. These bundles can reduce the cost of your add-ons and give you some extra perks like priority boarding.
If you are unable to avoid paying the fees, it might be worth booking a Frontier-only full-fare flight and using a reward card with Frontier. Your rewards will allow you to receive Frontier flight vouchers in the future.
Frontier Customer Service
Frontier's new messaging-based system for customer service has some passengers upset. Joe Lorenz was recently on a flight from Michigan to Denver to celebrate New Year's. He said that he couldn't resolve an issue with his online check in through Frontier's messaging platform. Instead of resolving the issue over email, he had to talk to a ticket agent at airport.
The employee was rude and uninterested in resolving the matter. He was rudely dismissed by the employee who said "I work the ticket counter, the gate".
He said that it took him several conversations and many employees before he was allowed to have his luggage checked. He claimed that he was given a $25 refund when he was allowed to check his luggage at the airport. However, he plans to change to another airline the next time he travels.
Frontier's Baggage Insurance
Make sure your carry-on is at least the right weight. Passengers who don't meet the guidelines could be charged up to $60 for their bags.
You should also be aware that some of the more expensive bundle packages don't allow you to carry-on any luggage, so make sure you choose wisely if you're aiming for the maximum savings.
Frontier isn’t as bad than some of its competitors despite the high number of fees. If you are on a budget, the rewards program and low fares may be worth considering. But don't forget to read Frontier's arbitrary baggage rules and cancellation policies before you decide to fly with them.
