Negative comments
You have probably seen AMZ reviews and found them to be downright funny. While many are due to poor writing skills and misdirected attempts to express enthusiasm, some are genuinely hilarious. Take, for example the Star Fleet Captain's review. While this was not the most flattering of reviews, it did receive over 25,000 positive comments. In these instances, you might find it humorous to write your own review, addressing the issues that the reviewer mentioned.
While negative feedback isn't necessarily humorous, it's also essential for a business to publish it. It's possible to find funny reviews, but it's illegal for a business to ask permission. A funny review can be used in marketing campaigns to make your product viral. Positive reviews can amplify the negative ones and drive more traffic to your products.
Sarcastic tone
To determine which products get positive reviews and which ones receive negative ones, we used the sarcastic tone found in Amazon reviews. We evaluated 5000 reviews and classified them as "Sarcastic," or "Nonsarcastic". Then, we divided those reviews into five categories according to their sarcastic tone. Results show that products with a sarcastic tone have a lower likelihood of being reviewed positively than those with neutral tones.
This study is based on two-star reviews, which show the best performance of the classifier. Reviewers with a 2-star rating were the most accurate and reliable. We used the same data set to determine sarcastic tone in the next study. However, we also selected reviews that were less positive. We found that 2 star reviews had a sarcastic tone, which was higher than the other reviews.
